Rice Cooked With Absorption Method Recipe


Ingredients

250g (8 oz) long grain rice
Water


Method

Wash the rice
Put rice in heavy-based pan
Add enough cold water to cover rice and be about 2.5cm (1-inch) above the surface of the rice
Bring to boil over high heat
Cover pan with tight-fitting lid
Reduce heat to as low as possible leaving covered and cook for 20 minutes - do not remove lid
Remove from heat and leave covered for 5 minutes to ensure all the water has been absorbed by the rice
Serve hot
